INTRODUCTION The Bible is a Baptist Book. The New Testament was
written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit by Baptists, and
was written to make Baptist disciples and build genuine
churches. Those Baptists who glorify our Lord, stand true to His
church and preach His Word, are still with us. Dr. Lacy has once
again shown his love for Christ and His church. Men who
preach, teach and write on these subjects today, without fear of
men, are rare.
The amount of loose thinking in our generation on the
subject of the Cross of Christ is apalling. There has been a real
need for a Spirit-led writer to present these truths in a manner
which will glorify Christ. The Dark Side of Calvary answers this
need. The arrangement and presentation of the subject matter in
this book is excellent, and Dr. Lacy has presented Biblical truth
in such a way as to leave no room for arguments.
What we believe will affect our thinking and our
practice. The apostles believed something. They were well
taught at the feet of the Author of Truth. They loved the church
that He established, and they brought glory to Him in that
church. (Ephesians 3:21)
This book is a refreshing breeze of old and important truths
presented by an author who has proved time and time again his
love for the truth. We must learn to live by these truths and
spread them by means of Christ's church. (Matthew 28:19-20)
God is still calling men who believe, practice, and defend
His Word. The Dark Side of Calvary is an excellent tool for the
propagation of Biblical truth. I highly recommend it to those
who seek to be genuine Baptists. It all began with John theiii
Baptist, and we who follow Christ and His church must strive to
be like the original Baptist. (Jesus accepted John's Baptism, and
so do genuine Baptists.) Read this book and rejoice that there are
those who still believe and proclaim these precious truths.Dr. Gordon Silcox, Pastor

DEDICATION This book is dedicated with love and deep affection to my pastor
and my friend, Pastor Harry Jackson of Calvary Baptist Church,
Fairfield, California.
I appreciate his love, loyalty, and true friendship to this
evangelist. I appreciate his strong stand on the Book. I
appreciate his love for the Saviour, who battered loose the gates
of Hell while on the Dark Side of Calvary.v
