Introduction
Dr. Lacy is not only an experienced pastor...a very busy
evangelist...a knowledgeable student and expositor of the
Word of God...a preacher in every way...but a personal friend
of many years.
It has been my privilege to follow closely his ministry for
years and now I have the blessed privilege to be his pastor
and his family's pastor...what an honour!
This book, "The Worm That Never Dies," has been greatly
needed for many years. After completely reading it, I find it
to be a very comprehensive study of the Bible subject of Hell.
As you read through the book...do so prayerfully and
carefully...everything he has written is adequately
substantiated by Scripture...from the King James, of course.
The last chapter especially will stimulate your thinking more
than anything you have ever read.
Our prayer is that as a result of reading this book...lost
people will be saved...and Christians will be challenged to go
out and "snatch them from the burning."

Foreword
As time marches on and the human race steadily moves
toward eternity, I am becoming increasingly concerned with
the growing confusion that hangs like a heavy fog in this
world. Eternity-bound souls are blindly groping along the
walls of religious intellectualism and higher criticism. The
whole problem stems from a developing tendency to discredit
the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God. It is
written indelibly on the pages of human history. The farther
people get from the Bible, the deeper they go into confusion.
The blind religious leaders of today have rejected the Bible
in favor of man-made theologies and beliefs. Some of them
say they are Bible men and claim to teach and preach it,
but they have turned away from the Word of God to
perverted translations. Either way, they have rejected the
Bible for man-made ideologies. These blind leaders are
leading blind followers.
"if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the
ditch." (Matt. 15:14)
I do not expect the modernists, the liberals, the cults, the
Catholics, the Charismatics, the New Evangelicals, or the
Mosl_ms to preach the Word of God. But I believe I have a
right to expect fundamental Baptists to preach it. However, I
am finding men in fundamentalist ranks who will no longer
preach on Hell. Many times in my meetings, people have
approached me with such prolific statements as, "I haven't
heard that kind of preaching since I was a kid!"...or..."I
haven't heard a sermon on Hell in this church for ten years!"
A lot of preachers evade the subject because it is unpopular
today. Such lily-livered scoundrels are in direct disobedience
to the Word of God. Paul told Timothy:
"Preach the word"! (II Tim. 4:2)

You cannot preach THE WORD and evade the subject of
Hell. Too many pastors today are preaching only topical and
textual sermons. I am not against those kind, but what
people need to hear in this day of spiritual dearth, is some
good old fashioned expository preaching. How could a man
preach through Matthew, for instance, and evade the subject
of Hell? Or for that matter...Genesis, or Numbers, or
Deuteronomy, or II Samuel, or Job, or the Psalms, or
Proverbs, or Isaiah, or Ezekiel, or Amos, or Jonah, or
Habbakuk? How can a man call himself a Bible preacher and
never preach on Hell? I challenge any man to preach
expositorially through Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans,
Corinthians, Thessalonians, Hebrews, James, I and II Peter,
Jude or Revelation and stay off the subject of a burning Hell
and the fiery wrath of God against sinners! If a man is a
BIBLE preacher, he will preach a great deal on Hell.
This book makes no claim of being a thorough treatise on
Hell. Perhaps enough will be said to stir the hearts of
preachers to preach more on the subject. Possibly the Lord
will use it to burden the hearts of Christian laymen to warn
their lost loved ones, friends, acquaintances and neighbours of
the wrath to come.
I want to put into print my sermon, "THE WORM THAT
NEVER DIES." So that it can have the fullest effect, it will
be preceded by a seven-fold study on Hell. May these Bible
truths grip the heart of the reader as they have mine.

Chapter One
THE EXISTENCE OF HELL
"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." (Luke 16:19-31)

This graphic historical event is related to us by the lips of
the One who created Hell.
ALL things were made by Him. (John 1:3)
Being Hell's Creator, Jesus Christ can speak with the
utmost and absolute authority. HELL EXISTS!
Down through the ages there has been a strong element in
this world which has denied the Bible truth on the subject.
This comes as no surprise. The lying old serpent who
convinced Eve she would never die, has been convincing
those who (like Eve) ignore God's Word, that they will never
burn in Hell. Various and sundry devil-inspired, man-made
ideas have been swallowed by the gullible multitudes. I list
and comment on a few:
1. No Literal Burning Hell
The Bible specifically says there is a Hell fifty-four times.
By this, I mean the word "Hell" is actually used. It uses other
descriptions, such as "furnace of fire", "everlasting fire",
"everlasting destruction", "everlasting punishment",
"torment forever and ever", "eternal fire", "lake of fire",
"bottomless pit", "outer darkness", etc. HUNDREDS of
times.
No one can believe the Bible and deny a literal, burning
everlasting Hell. There are some who claim to be Bible
believers and yet deny a literal Hell. They are acid-mouthed
liars. You must accept the Bible AS IT IS, or reject it totally.
Anything in between makes you a Scripture-twisting idiot.
Speaking of idiots, let me give you a "no-Hell" statement by
the late Bishop James Pike, hot-shot Epi.ian
"theologian", who NOW knows that there is a literal, burning
Hell. I copy it from page 173 of a book by Will Our.
Prot. Pow. and the Coming Revolution. Giving a cross
section of views on Heaven and Hell, Our. quotes Pike:
"A Heaven of infinite bliss and a Hell of infinite
torment is an ~~impossible contradiction~~. The kind of

people who would qualify for Heaven.... Jesus,
as shown by the reports of His ministry on earth, would
be there alongside them too. God in His Heaven would
find Himself lonely and might well join everybody
there, or change the whole scheme."
Now isn't that typical modernist philosophy? The B-B
brained bishop was willing to accept the Bible's "reports" on
Jesus' ministry on earth. But he was not willing to accept the
Bible's "reports" when it revealed what Jesus SAID about
Hell! Where did Mr. Pike get the unmitigated gall to declare
that Hell was God's mistake and that He would have to end
up changing the "whole scheme?"
All of the infidels and skeptics in the world can deny the
Bible, laugh at the doctrine of Hell, philosophize it into
"contradiction" and spit on the Truth. Mr. Pike did. I'll
guarantee you one thing. Mr. P___ cannot deny that he is
burning NOW. He is not laughing NOW. He cannot
philosophize away his tormenting thirst and he would give his
eye-teeth and his left-eyeball if he could only work up a spit!
In his book entitled, The New Rev., A. Con.
Doy., spiritist leader, says on page 68:
"...."
Tch. Tch., Mr. Doy. You have accused the Lord of
Glory, Himself, of being an unreasonable Man. I sure would
not want to be in your boots at the White Throne!
In her Bible-denying book, Eso. Chr., Annie
Besant (leader of the Theosophy cult) said on page 42:
"If this (Luke 13:23-24) be applied...to salvation

from everlasting Hell-fire, the statement becomes
incredible, shocking. No Saviour of the world can be
supposed to assert that..."
Look out, Annie! Wait till you hear His incredible,
shocking, "Depart from Me into everlasting fire!"
Mary Baker Glover Patterson Frye Eddy, in her book
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, flatly denied
the existence of Hell. She also denied the existence of death.
She also denied the existence of sickness. ....

...take it
literally. In other words, there is no literal burning Hell.
Only one time in the Bible does God pull back the curtain
and give us a glimpse of Hell. Once is sufficient. When we see
that rich man lifting up his eyes in Hell, crying for mercy and
begging for water, it is enough to convince us that Hell is real
and literal. Go back and read the passage again. You will see
it.

The RICH MAN was real and literal.
LAZARUS was real and literal.
Their DEATHS were real and literal.
The ANGELS were real and literal.
ABRAHAM was real and literal.
HELL was real and literal.
The FLAME was real and literal.
His EYES were real and literal.
Lazarus' FINGER was real and literal.
The rich man's TONGUE was real and literal.
The WATER he desired was real and literal.
His TORMENT was real and literal.
The great separating GULF was real and literal.
His Hell-bound BROTHERS were real and literal.

The real, literal existence of Hell is irrefutably taught in
Scripture as both a PLACE and a CONDITION. Listen to the
man in Hell:
I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send
him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that
he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this
PLACE of torment. (Luke 16:27-28)
Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send
Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water,
and cool my tongue; FOR I AM TORMENTED in this
flame. (Luke 16:24)
Hell is a real, literal PLACE; and it is a real, literal
CONDITION of torment. Since Hell is a real, literal PLACE
OF TORMENT, then it has to be really, literally, located
somewhere. It is. The Bible clearly teaches that Hell is
located in the center of this planet on which we live.
The Hebrew word "Sheol" is often translated "Hell" in

our English Bible. "Sheol" means "abode of the dead."
Sometimes in the Bible it means the grave, the abode of the
BODY. Other times it means the abode of the SOUL. The
context reveals which place is meant. Before our Lord's
resurrection, ALL who died went to Sheol. This place in the
heart of the earth was divided into three sections...the flames,
the bottomless pit and paradise. In Luke 16, the rich man
was in the flames and Lazarus was in paradise (Abraham's
bosom). They were separated by the bottomless pit (the great
gulf). When lost people died, they went into the flames.
When saved people died, they went into paradise.
This is the paradise that Jesus was talking about when He
said to the dying repentant thief,
"To day shalt thou be with [M]e in paradise." (Luke
23:43)
Notice that Jesus did not say "Thou shalt be with Me in
HEAVEN." The Saviour did not go into Heaven at death, but
into Sheol. In the Greek of the New Testament, the word is
"Hades." Jesus said to the Father:
"[T]hou wilt not leave my soul in [H]ell [Hades], neither
wilt [T]hou suffer thine Holy One [His body] to see
corruption." (Acts 2:27)
David had prophesied that Jesus would say this in Psalm
16:10.
"David...being a prophet...seeing this before spake of
the resurrection of Christ, that [H]is soul was
not left in [H]ell [Hades], neither [H]is flesh did see
corruption." (Acts 2:29-31)
There is no question that the Lord Jesus went into
"Sheol" or "Hades" during the three days and three nights
(Matt. 12:40) that His body was in the tomb. He met the

thief in paradise (Luke 23:43). Now watch this next one
closely.
When He ascended up on high (into Heaven), He led
captivity captive and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He
ascended, what is it but that He also DESCENDED first
into the LOWER PARTS OF THE EARTH?) (Eph.
4:8-9)
Where is "Sheol" or "Hades"? In the LOWER PARTS OF
THE EARTH. The only inhabitants in Hell today are those in
the flames. When Jesus "ascended up on high," He "led
captivity captive[.]" He took all of the inhabitants of paradise
and brought them into Heaven. Paradise today is in
HEAVEN.
Speaking of his own experience, Paul said,
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago,
(whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of
the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one
CAUGHT UP TO THE THIRD HEAVEN. And I knew
such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I
cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was CAUGHT
UP INTO PARADISE and heard unspeakable words,
which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (II Cor.
12:2-4)
In God's creation there are three "heavens."

Where the birds and airplanes fly.
Where the stars, planets, sun and moon are.
WHERE GOD LIVES.
Paul said he was caught up into PARADISE. This is
Heaven. Paradise, then, was transferred from the cool side of
Hades up into Heaven after the resurrection of our Saviour.
The burning side of Hades is still inhabited and growing more
so every day.

Hell hath ENLARGED herself and opened her mouth
without measure and their glory and their multitude and
their pomp and he that rejoiceth shall DESCEND INTO
IT. (Isa. 5:14)
When people die lost, they DESCEND into an
ever-enlarging Hell. This burning furnace of fire is located
DOWNWARD in the center of the earth.
"let them go down quick into [H]ell:" (Psalm 55:15)
Her house is the way to Hell, going DOWN to the
chambers of death. (Prov. 7:27)
Thou shalt be brought DOWN to Hell, to the sides of
the pit. (Isa. 14:15)
I cast him DOWN to Hell with them that DESCEND
into the pit...they also went DOWN into HELL with him.
(Ezekiel 31:16-17)
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto
Heaven, shall be brought DOWN to Hell. (Matt. 11:23)
"God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them
down to [H]ell," (II Pet. 2:4)
Is this earth real and literal? So is the Hell which is DOWN
in her LOWER PARTS! The real, literal Hell which is in the
center of this real, literal earth also has real, literal FIRE
AND BRIMSTONE!
There were two real, literal cities on the plains of Mamre,
which were known as Sodom and Gomorrah. These real,
literal cities had real, literal inhabitants and were surrounded
by real, literal trees and shrubs which grew upon the real,
literal ground.

"Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon
Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out
of heaven; And [H]e overthrew those cities, and all the
plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which
grew upon the ground." (Gen. 19:24-25)
Would any of you modernist meatheads or you cultist
kooks be fool enough to tell me that the Lord rained spiritual
fire and spiritual brimstone on those real, literal cities? I
hope not. A team of archaeologists just recently dug down
and found Sodom on the old plains of Mamre at the edge of
the Dead Sea. Wanna know what they found? REAL,
LITERAL ASHES!!! Now...get a good hold on your seat
belt.
"Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them...are
set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of
eternal fire"! (Jude 7)
Do you see it? The real, literal fire that fell on the real,
literal inhabitants of those real, literal cities plummeted them
into real, literal ETERNAL fire! God says they are set forth
for an example. Do you want to see an earthly example of
what the eternal Hell is like?
"the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah
brimstone and fire"! (Gen. 19:24)
You skeptics need to get on a jet airliner and fly to
Jerusalem. Rent yourself a camel. (Don't rent a donkey.
Bystanders may wonder which is which!) Ride your camel to
the excavating site of Sodom. Ask the superintendent if you
can have a handful of Sodom's ashes. Let those real, literal
ashes sift through your skeptical fingers...come back, look me
square in the eye and tell me the fire and brimstone in Hell is
spiritual!
The Lord Jesus puts HIS stamp of approval on the Genesis

account.
The same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained
FIRE AND BRIMSTONE from Heaven and destroyed
them all. (Luke 17:29)
God tells us in Jude that the elements that fell on those
wicked cities are exactly what we find in Hell.
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God,
which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His
indignation and he shall be tormented with FIRE AND
BRIMSTONE! (Rev. 14:10)
The beast was taken and with him the false
prophet...These both were cast alive into a Lake of
FIRE burning with BRIMSTONE. (Rev. 19:20)
And the devil...was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE
AND BRIMSTONE, where the beast and the false
prophet are and shall be tormented day and night
forever and ever. (Rev. 20:10)
"the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and
murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and
idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake
which burneth with fire and brimstone:" (Rev.
21:8)
God was not kidding when He said the FIRE AND
BRIMSTONE which destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah are
exactly the same thing the inhabitants fell into when they
died.
If the Scriptures we have examined here are not proof
enough for you that Hell is a real, literal place of real, literal
FIRE AND BRIMSTONE...you are a hopeless fool.
I often hear some skeptic fool say, "I want God to PROVE

to me that there is a Hell!" Hang on, ole buddy. He WILL!
2. ~~Annihilation~~ of Those in Hell
There are those religious systems which acknowledge that
there is a real, literal burning Hell. But they disdain the
concept of people burning in it forever.
....
fear not them which kill the body, but are not able
to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to
DESTROY both soul and body in Hell. (Matt. 10:28)
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to DESTRUCTION,
and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait
is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it. (Matt. 7:13-14)
the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from Heaven with
His mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on
them that know not God, and that obey not the Gospel
of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with
everlasting DESTRUCTION from the presence of the
Lord, and from the glory of His power; (II Thess. 1:7-9)

Based on these passages, the Adventists and others say that
the wicked will be totally burned up and destroyed out of
existence. I say that there is absolutely no way that these
Scriptures can be made to teach that the wicked will be
"blotted out of existence."
Cain went to Hell some six thousand years ago. Multitudes
of others have followed him there. The man in Luke 16 has
been there for two thousand years. Have they been burned
up? Have they been blotted out of existence? According to
the Word of God, when it comes time for the White Throne
Judgment, Hell is going to deliver up those who are burning
there so they can stand before God! (See Rev. 20:13). NO
ANNIHILATION HERE.
(Rev. 19:20; 20:1-3, 7-8, 10)
After burning in the Lake of Fire for ten centuries, the
beast and the false prophet ARE STILL IN EXISTENCE and
STILL BURNING. Along with Satan and all lost souls, they
will burn in torment day and night FOREVER AND EVER!
NO ANNIHILATION HERE.

"the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever
and ever:" (Rev. 14:11)
A person who has been blotted out of existence cannot be
tormented FOREVER AND EVER. NO ANNIHILATION
HERE.
Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart
from Me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE,
prepared for the devil and his angels: (Matt. 25:41)
Now I ask you...if the people who drop into that blazing
inferno will be annihilated, WHY WILL GOD KEEP THE
FIRE BURNING FOREVER? The Bible means what it says.
The inhabitants of Hell will be "tormented day and night
for ever[.]"
.... They translate
Revelation 20:13 as follows:
...; and
death and THE GRAVE ....
I realize that the word translated "Hell" in this verse is
"Hades", the Greek counterpart to the Hebrew "Sheol". It
sometimes does mean the grave (the resting place of the
body). As I said earlier, the CONTEXT must determine
whether it is speaking of the grave or of that place in the
center of the earth.
From the lips of Jesus, Himself, we are told that while the

rich man's BODY was being buried, the SOUL was tormented
in a flaming Hell! (See Luke 16:22-23). I could give a lot
more Scripture on it, but are not the plain clear words of
Jesus Christ enough? The rich man's soul was not sleeping. It
was BURNING!
According to Jesus, the BODY and the SOUL will not be
together in Hades, but WILL BE in the Lake of Fire. If Hades
is the grave in Revelation 20:13, the body and soul would
have been together. Listen to Jesus:
Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able
to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to
destroy both SOUL AND BODY IN HELL. (Matt.
10:28)
The Greek word translated "Hell" in this verse is
"Gehenna". This word is used in the New Testament twelve
times. Eleven of these were by Jesus, Himself. It means "a
place of never-ending unquenchable fire." The word is
derived from the Hebrew "ge-hinnom". This is the Valley of
Hinnom. This valley was the garbage dump for the city of
Jerusalem. For generation upon generation, century after
century, the Jews would dump their refuse, garbage, dead
animals, bodies of criminals and derelicts on the burning
heap.
The fire never went out. While the wriggling maggots
feasted on the vermin, the fire burned incessantly, month
after month, year after year, decade after decade, lifetime
after lifetime.
The Valley of Hinnom had long been contemptuously
regarded in the Hebrew mind. (See II Kings 23:10 and
Jeremiah 7:30-31). "Gehenna" was a technical term for
unquenchable, unending FIRE. It never has meant the grave.
The soul of a lost person LEAVES the body and goes into
the flames of Hades. The soul cannot "sleep" within the
body in the grave. A person is not dead until the soul
DEPARTS from the body.

And it came to pass as her SOUL was in
DEPARTING (for she DIED...). (Gen. 35:18)
The Lord Jesus used the word "Hades" five times and the
word "Gehenna" eleven times. Never did He confuse the two.
When He used "Hades," it was always that unseen world in
the heart of the earth. Sometimes He referred to both the hot
and cool sections. Other times He spoke just of the hot
section. He never put the dead person's BODY in Hades, only
the SOUL. The body was in the grave. The SOUL was in the
heart of the earth. Hades is never spoken of as the soul's final
habitat.
When He spoke of "Gehenna," He always spoke of the
final habitat of the sinner...and seven of the eleven times, He
said that the BODY was there! (See Matt. 5:29, 30; 10:28;
18:9 and Mark 9:43, 45, 47). "Hades," then, is the burning
Hell where the SOUL of the lost person goes at death. At the
White Throne Judgment the grave (death) will deliver up the
BODY and Hell will deliver up the SOUL. The BODY and
SOUL of each individual will be reunited. From the White
Throne, the lost person (BODY and SOUL) will be cast alive
into the Lake of Fire, just like the antichrist and the false
prophet!
These both were cast ALIVE into a Lake of Fire
burning with brimstone. (Rev. 19:20)
When the body and soul are together, the person is
ALIVE. This is why the events of the White Throne are called
the "second RESURRECTION."
But the rest of the dead LIVED NOT AGAIN until
the thousand years were finished. This is the FIRST
resurrection. (Rev. 20:5)
The saved people come out of Heaven to meet their bodies
at the FIRST resurrection. Note that Revelation 20:5 says,

"The rest of the dead (lost people) LIVED NOT AGAIN
UNTIL the thousand years were finished." They will live
again, then won't they? What is the difference, then, of being
"dead" and being "alive?" Simple as Susie's soup. When your
soul is in your body, you are ALIVE. When your soul is not
in your body, you are DEAD. "Death" for a human being
never means a SLEEPING SOUL or an annihilation. It means
"separation." When the soul of a lost person is separated
from the body, his soul goes to burn in Hell and somebody
pronounces him "dead." The body is put in the grave and the
soul (awake and concious) screams in Hell.
You "soul-sleep" folks ought to throw away those creepy
cult books and read the BIBLE. Of course you will have to
get saved first, or you will never grasp its truths! (See I Cor.
2:13-14).
A born-again person who has the intelligence of a soda
cracker can plainly see that "Hades" is Hell until the White
Throne Judgment and "Gehenna" is Hell (the Lake of Fire)
FOREVER. He can also see that the BODY sleeps in the
grave until that person's resurrection, but the SOUL is awake
in Hell.
Let us, now, hasten back to the....
Fear Him which is able to DESTROY both body and
soul in Hell. (Matt. 10:28)
The Greek word, here, is "apollu," which means "to put
away" or "to lose." It never means to annihilate. Certainly
they will be PUT AWAY in Hell. They also will be LOST in
Hell...but never blotted out of existence.
"broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction,"
(Matt. 7:13)
The Greek word here is "apoleia." A quick glance will
reveal that it is another form of "apollu." Hence, we have the

Lord Jesus saying, "Broad is the way that leads to being
LOST in Hell."
"punished with everlasting destruction". (II Thess.
1:9)
The Greek word here is a different one. It is "olethros,"
which means "RUIN" or "DEATH." Certainly for every lost
soul it is everlasting RUIN. According to Revelation 20:14
and 21:8, it is also everlasting DEATH (separation from
God). In fact II Thessalonians 1:9 brings this fact out clearly.
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction
FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD.
There is a lot more in the Scriptures to substantiate my
position, but for an honest, unbiased, open-minded
intelligent person, the truth is clear. There is no "blotting out
of existence" of the wicked. They will consciously burn in
Hell forever.
3. Hell is Only the Grave.
The Russellites (I refuse to call them Jehovah's Witnesses),
amongst their nefarious doctrines, insist that "Sheol" and
"Hades" are ALWAYS the grave. Hence, they adamantly
oppose the idea of a literal, burning Hell.
As I have already said, sometimes these words do mean the
grave. Bugs B. and Elmer F. could easily decipher the
difference within each context. Of course Bugs and Elmer
have always made more sense to me than the Watchtower
creeps. Let's see if WE can tell the difference.
"It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper
than [H]ell [Sheol]; what canst thou know?" (Job 11:8)
One can plainly see that a contrast of extremes is being
made here. Was Zophar so stupid that the deepest thing he

could think of to contrast with the heights of Heaven WAS A
HOLE SIX FEET DEEP? To claim this is the grave is
stupidity.
"The wicked shall be turned into [H]ell [Sheol], and all
the nations that forget God." (Psalm 9:17)
Now, really, Russellites...are you going to tell me that only
the wicked die and go into the grave? This is HELL, not the
grave.
Hell [Sheol] from beneath is moved for thee to meet
thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even
all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from
their thrones all the kings of the nations. And they shall
speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as
we? art thou become like unto us? (Isa. 14:9-10)
(Isa.
14:12, 15-16)
... where people will LOOK upon him and TALK to him!
This is clearly speaking of when the devil goes into HELL
(Rev. 20:10).
Let us look at a couple of passages where "Sheol" is the
grave. In Genesis chapter forty-two, Jacob is suffering
severely with life's toubles and he says:

Ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the
grave (Sheol). (Gen. 42:38)
....

(Ecc. 9:10)
Since the body does "sleep" in the grave (John 11:11-14),
there is no knowledge, etc. in the grave. In Luke 16, the rich
man's body lay motionless and totally inactive in the
grave...but, the soul agonized in Hell. The context in
Ecclesiastes 9:10 unmistakably makes "Sheol" the grave.
Since the story of the rich man in Luke 16 reveals the

4. Hell is Here on Earth
That kind of heathen reasoning may sound good at a
cocktail party in a Unitarian church, but if you don't believe
in a popping, smoldering, roaring, bubbling, burning Lake of
Fire, you are calling God a LIAR!
The UNBELIEVING...have their part in the Lake
which burneth with fire and brimstone. (Rev. 21:8)
This is AFTER this earth has passed away (Rev. 21:1).
This earth is not the lost man's Hell. He will burn forever
in the Lake of Fire whether he believes it or not!
5. Hell is Only a State of Mind
The Science of Mind churches propagate this lie.

God says,
"[W]hosoever was not found written in the [B]ook of
[L]ife was cast into the [L]ake of [F]ire." (Rev. 20:15)
That's simple enough, isn't it?
It all goes back to what Abraham told the rich man. You
will remember that the rich man thought about his five
brothers who were also on their way to Hell. He begged for
Abraham to send Lazarus back to earth to warn his lost
brothers "lest they also come into this place of torment."
Look at Abraham's reply:
"They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear
them." (Luke 16:29)
Abraham was saying, "They have the Bible, let them hear
the Bible!" The entire Old Testament was complete and in
the hands of the people. The New Testament was not written
yet. No matter. The thirty-nine books of the Old Testament
give God's plan of salvation over and over again.
By "Moses," Abraham meant the books that were written
by Moses...Genesis through Deuteronomy. By "the
prophets," he meant the books from Joshua through Malachi.
If you object to the writers of the historical books and the

poetical books being called "prophets," a little research will
reveal that Samuel (of the historical books) and David (of the
poetical books) were called "prophets." (See II Chronicles
35:18 and Acts 2:29-30).
The tormented rich man argued with Abraham.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but IF ONE
WENT UNTO THEM FROM THE DEAD, they will
repent! (Luke 16:30)
He had it all figured out. If Lazarus could burst open his
casket and crawl up out of his grave, this would hit the
newspapers. ....
Sounds feasible, doesn't it? But Abraham pops the rich
man's bubble.
He said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the
prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one
rose from the dead. (Luke 16:31)
Brother, Abraham spoke the naked truth. He tapped the
grass roots of mankind's whole problem...THEIR REFUSAL
TO BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD!
Satan started the whole mess when he put a question mark

in the mind of Eve concerning THE WORD OF GOD. (See
Genesis 3:1). Satan refuted God's words and convinced Eve
that in spite of what God said, she would not die. (See
Genesis 3:4).
The old snake is still at it today. God says in His Bible that
there is a real, literal, fiery, burning Hell where all
Christ-rejecters will burn forever. Satan comes along and puts
the same old question mark in its same old place and says,
"Yea, hath God said there is a Hell? Ye shall NOT go to
Hell!"
God's Word has been proven right in the matter of death.
The devil was proven a split-tongued LIAR. If people refuse
to believe what God says about Hell, they will find out when
they get there, that just as sure as there are cemeteries,
THERE IS A HELL!
The rich man reasoned that though his brothers would not
believe the Bible, they would believe a man who came back
from the dead. Abraham knew that they would not. And he
was right. Just a little while later, a Man bearing the wounds
of a Roman cross was buried in a new-hewn tomb just
outside of Jerusalem. For seventy-two hours, that Man's soul
was in Hades. When the three days and three nights were
expired, that Man ROSE FROM THE DEAD! He bore
witness on earth for forty days. He left a legacy of witness
printed in twenty-seven books. He commissioned His church
to tell the story of His death, burial and RESURRECTION to
the world.
The message has gone to the four corners of the earth
many times since His rising from the dead. His very
resurrection is God's lever of proof that the unbelieving
world WILL be judged and sent to a literal burning Hell. (See
Acts 17:31).
Yes, One did rise from the dead. He came back from where
Lazarus was, to tell the story. HAS THE WORLD
BELIEVED HIM AND REPENTED AS THE RICH MAN
THOUGHT? No. Abraham was right. If people will not
believe the Word of God, they will not believe though one be

raised from the dead.
Why, if even the RICH MAN HIMSELF would have been
allowed to climb to the gates of Hell and emerge through
earth's dark chasms into the sunlight...If he would run into
his father's house with his hair on fire, his skin smoking and
brimstone dripping from his fingers...his five brothers would
not have believed him! GOD'S WORD SAYS SO!
God is not going to prove to anyone this side of death's
door that there is a Hell. If you are going to miss that awful
place, YOU MUST TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT.

If my caustic descriptions of religious systems and leaders
seem that I am not "loving"...it is because the reader has
been subjected to too much modern-day weak-kneed
pacifism fostered by the spineless leaders of the Charismatic
Movement and the sissy-pants New Evangelicals. I have great
love for the souls of men. I am spending my life trying to
keep them out of Hell. Wicked religious leaders are leading
multiplied millions of souls to Hell. I do not apologize for
being rough with them. Besides...I'm in good company. Just
look at who belongs to the Get Rough With False Prophets

1. JESUS
He is the President of our exclusive Club. I say "exclusive"
because there are not many of us left. Many of our members
developed yellow stripes down their backs and grape jelly in
their backbones. They quit the Club.
I often call modernist soul-murderers "bird-dogs." I picked
this sort of thing up from our President. He called wicked
Herod a "fox" (Luke 13:32). He calls lost religious leaders
"wolves" (Matt. 7:15). He calls lost Bible cussers "dogs" and
"hogs" (Matt. 7:6). He was really caustic with the scribes and
Pharisees. These men were the Bishop Pikes, the Norman
Vincent Peales, the Popes, Cardinals, Monsignors, Bishops,

Priests, ("holy daddies"). Nuns ("holy mommies"), Ellen G.
Whites, Mary B. [G]. P. F. Eddys, Charles Taze Russells, Joseph
Smiths, Karl Marxes, Moh_mm_ds, Oral Robertses, Kathryn
Kuhlmans, Father Divines, Reverend Ikes, and National
Council of Churches leaders of their day.
Our President pulled no punches with that crowd. He
called them "hypocrites," "blind guides," "fools,"
"white-washed graves," "snakes," "sons of poisonous
reptiles" and "murderers." (Read Matthew 23). Like I said,
I'm in good company.
2. JOHN THE BAPTIST
He is the Vice-president of our Club. He called that same
crowd "vipers" (Matt. 3:7). He called Herod an "adulterer"
(Luke 3:19).
3. SOLOMON
I call those false prophets "nitwits" and "bird-dog idiots."
Solomon did the same thing (Prov. 26:11).
4. DAVID
He called the Christ-rejecting crowd "bulls" (Psalm 22:12).
5. PAUL
This little fiery Baptist preacher stood right up before the
National Council and called the high priest a "whited wall"
(Acts 23:3).
6. PETER
The big hairy-chested ex-fisherman called Christ-rejecters
"killers" (Acts 3:15), "hogs" and "dogs" (II Peter 2:22).
7. JUDE
This guy was unmerciful. He called them "creeps" (Vs. 4),
"filthy dreamers" (Vs. 8), "brute beasts" (Vs. 10), "spots,"
"empty clouds," "twice-dead trees" (Vs. 12), "shameful
raging waves," "wandering stars" (Vs. 13), "ungodly sinners"
(Vs. 15), "murmurers," "complainers," "big-mouths" (Vs.
16), "ungodly sensual mockers" (Vs. 18-19).
8. JOHN
The "disciple of love" was also known as a "son of

thunder" (Mark 3:17). Get this truth under your belt. Men
who have real love for the Lord, His Bible, His work, His
church and the souls of men will THUNDER against false
teaching and false teachers!
John called them "deceivers" and "antichrist" (II John 7).
It was John who looked through the Telescope of Time from
Patmos and saw God utterly destroy all the Christ-rejecting
religions of the world (Revelation 17 and 18). Then he
looked into Heaven and saw the multitudes of the redeemed
REJOICING over the destruction of all the cults, the
National and World Councils, the Rom. Cat.ic church
and all her infamous Prot. children, the B_ddhists, Hare
Krishnas, Mosl_ms, Shintos, etc., etc.
After these things I heard a great voice of much
people in Heaven, saying ....

Chapter Two
THE NATURE OF HELL

The nature of Hell is depicted by a three-fold description.

3. The DESPAIR of Hell
By its very nature, Hell is a place of utter despair.
The smoke of their torment ascendeth up FOREVER
AND EVER. (Rev. 14:11)

.... They have been cast
alive into the Lake of Fire (Rev. 19:20) and they must
remain alive forever. Hell will of necessity become the
