"Will I
Lose My
Salvation
if I Stop
Believing
in Christ?"

Do you really have
a choice?

Many who profess to be saved are under the assumption that they can lose their
salvation.   Such an assumption is erroneous and often comes from not truly
understanding what Jesus Christ did for them on the cross.   Friend, if you are
such a person, then please take the time to read the following.

"Speaking the truth in love."   Eph. 4:15

Let's begin by emphasizing the fact that neither you nor I play any role whatsoever in
our own salvation.   The Bible teaches that we need a Saviour because we can't save
ourselves: "For what the law could not do, in that IT WAS WEAK THROUGH THE
FLESH, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned
sin in the flesh."
  Rom. 8:3

Our sinful flesh it too weak and unable to follow God's law, "Because the carnal mind
is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN BE"

(Rom. 8:7).
Because we can't consistently follow God's laws to the letter, the Bible
pronounces, "ALL HAVE SINNED, and come short of the glory of God."   (Rom. 3:23).
"There is NONE RIGHTEOUS, no, not one."   Rom. 3:10

That is why Christ HAD to die on the cross to pay for our sins; He is our ONLY HOPE
of getting saved from eternal judgment: "Jesus saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, the
truth, and the life: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME"
(John 14:6).
Jesus Christ does ALL the saving with no help from us: "Neither is there salvation IN
ANY OTHER: for THERE IS NONE OTHER NAME under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved."
  Acts 4:12

Salvation is not in the name of Buddha, Mohammad, Mary, a denomination, a minister,
and surely NOT OUR OWN NAME!   We don't play ANY part in our own salvation beyond
simply trusting that Christ has already paid for our sins.   That is why, when the Philippian
jailer in Acts 16:30 asked: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" the Apostle Paul
answered "BELIEVE [TRUST] ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved,
and thy house."
  Acts 16:30-31

"For by grace are ye SAVED THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the
gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast"
(Eph. 2:8- 9).   Don't try earning
your way into Heaven with your acts of righteousness; instead, repent and place all your
trust in Jesus Christ to save you.   "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
SHALL BE SAVED."
  Rom. 10:13

Now, perhaps you are nodding your head in agreement to
most of what you have read so far.

Yes, you agree that we need a Saviour.   And furthermore, you agree that salvation is not
by works, but through faith in Jesus Christ.   However, your rationale may be: since it
took faith to get saved, it must take "non- faith" to get un-saved.   In other words, once
you begin to trust Christ as Saviour, if you choose not to trust Him anymore, you will
lose, or even "give back", your salvation.   This sounds reasonable, but it overlooks

One important fact . . .

THE CHOICE IS NO LONGER YOURS!

If you asked Christ to save you under the assumption that somehow you would still
have the option or ability to "back out of the deal," then you never really made Christ
your LORD and SAVIOUR.   You never fully surrendered your self-will and threw yourself
at God's mercy as a lost, hell-deserving, hell-bound sinner in need of a Saviour.

Jesus Christ said: "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that FORSAKETH NOT ALL that
he hath, he cannot be my disciple."
  (Luke 14:33).
"Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF, and TAKE UP HIS CROSS
[die
to self], and follow me.   For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever
WILL LOSE HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE SHALL FIND IT."
  Mat. 16:24- 25

However, If you truly got saved, then you have surrendered your will over to Christ; you
have put your soul in HIS HANDS.   The Bible says: "For YE ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE:
therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, WHICH ARE GOD'S."
  (1 Cor. 6:20).

GOD OWNS YOU!   You don't own yourself.   You couldn't get lost again if you wanted
to do so.   Your destiny is in HIS CONTROL, not yours.   You have committed it ALL to
Christ.
The Apostle Paul put it this way: "For I know whom I HAVE BELIEVED, and am
persuaded that HE IS ABLE TO KEEP that which I HAVE COMMITTED UNTO HIM
against that day."
  2 Tim. 1:12

You don't hang on to Christ.   He hangs on to you!

Now, ask yourself, "Did I really commit it ALL to Christ?   Am I trusting in HIS ability to
keep me, like Paul did, or in my ability to stay faithful?   Have I put my soul in HIS hands?
Or is my soul still in "the hands" of my choice to believe?"

If you did surrender it all to Christ, then rest assured.   Christ said: "I am the good
shepherd: the good shepherd GIVETH HIS LIFE FOR THE SHEEP"
(John 10:11).
  You can
try to un-save yourself all you want, but it will not happen unless the Good Shepherd
allows it to happen.

Christ does all the saving and that means He does ALL THE KEEPING.   He promised:
"And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I
SHOULD LOSE NOTHING, but should raise it up again at the last day."
  John 6:39

Salvation is "the gift of God" (Eph. 2:8- 9), and "THE GIFTS and calling of God ARE
WITHOUT REPENTANCE"
(Rom. 11:29).   God won't change His mind and take His gift
back.   Oh, you can try giving it back, but that doesn't mean He'll take it!

Don't try to let go of Christ, either.   He won't let go of you.   Jesus promised: "And I give
unto them ETERNAL LIFE; and they SHALL NEVER PERISH, neither shall any man pluck
them out of my hand.   My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and NO MAN
IS ABLE TO PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY FATHER'S HAND."
  John 10:28- 29

"no man" includes yourself!   You can't pry yourself out of God's hand.   You couldn't

even jump out of it if YOU wanted to; His hand is too big.   You couldn't find the edge!
You may even want to cast yourself from Christ, but try convincing Him to cast you
away.   "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I
WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT."
  John 6:37

Upon salvation, you become a child of God, and even if you try to sin your way out of
God's hand, God WILL NOT disinherit you . . . He will merely discipline you, instead.
The Bible says: "My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when
thou art rebuked of him: FOR WHOM THE LORD LOVETH HE CHASTENETH, and
scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.   If ye endure chastening, GOD DEALETH WITH
YOU AS WITH SONS; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?   But if ye be
without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, AND NOT SONS"

(Heb. 12:5-8).
In other words, if you can sin your way out of God's will and get away
with it, then you were never saved in the first place,
"and not sons[!]"

FRIEND, LET'S BE REASONABLE . . .

Perhaps after reading all this, you are still shaking your head in disagreement.   You simply
are not convinced that a person cannot lose their salvation through unbelief.   But ask
yourself, WHY?   Why would you stop believing in the first place?   Is your faith based on
the sands of human rationale?   It shouldn't be.   The Bible warns, "That your faith
SHOULD NOT STAND IN THE WISDOM OF MEN, but in the power of God"
(1 Cor. 2:5).

Can't you trust God's power to completely save you once and for all?

Will some unknown piece of evidence rear its ugly head one day and challenge your
belief so strongly that you will intellectually have no choice but to abandon your faith
in Christ?   Perhaps you are looking at your own ability to rationalize and not, "Looking
unto Jesus the AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH."
  Heb. 12:2

Did you truly believe unto salvation in the first place?   Jesus said: "The time is fulfilled,
and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL"
(Mark
1:15).
To repent means to change your mind about your known sin, as well as your
willingness to believe.   Did you repent?   Was it TRUE repentance?

The Bible says: "For godly sorrow worketh repentance TO SALVATION NOT TO BE
REPENTED OF: but the sorrow of the world worketh death"
(2 Cor. 7:10).
  "not to be
repented of"
means once you change your mind and believe unto salvation, you will
never change your mind again (unless it wasn't real the first time).

Are you 100% sure you are saved?   Have you truly been born again?   Have you been
converted?   The Bible says: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, HE IS A NEW CREATURE:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
  2 Cor. 5:17

And in case you still insist on sighting examples of those who have supposedly lost their
salvation, please consider the strong probability that they were never truly saved in the
first place.   "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us,
they would NO DOUBT HAVE CONTINUED WITH US: but they went out, that they
might be made manifest that THEY WERE NOT ALL OF US. "
  1 John 2:19

IF you were to die today, are you 100% SURE
you would go to Heaven?
  The Bible says
YOU CAN BE SURE (1 John 5:13).

BUT FIRST, you must realize that what keeps you
from going to Heaven are your sins, because:
"...your iniquities [sins] have separated
between you and your God,"
Isaiah 59:2.
In fact, in God's eyes YOU ARE A SINNER: "For
all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God;"
Romans 3:23.

SECONDLY, you must realize that there is
NOTHING you can do to save yourself and earn
Heaven: "For by grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God: Not of works, lest any
man should boast."
  Eph. 2:8-9   Baptism, good
deeds, church membership, self-righteousness are
all examples of good works that cannot save you,
because: "Not by works of
righteousness
which we have done, but
according to his mercy he
[Christ] saved
us
,"
Titus 3:5.

THE ONLY WAY you can get saved is through
Jesus Christ.   He said: "I am the way, the
truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father, but by me."
  (John 14:6)   THAT'S
WHY
: "...while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us
."
  (Rom. 5:8-9)

THEREFORE: You must REPENT (change your
mind
); admit that you are a Hell deserving sinner
and can't save yourself.   And call upon Christ, and
Him alone, to save you.   "if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus
[REPENT], and
shalt believe in thine heart
[TRUST] that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved."
  Romans 10:9
