[....] THE GREEK TEXT.    The Greek Text is that of Stephens, 1550, which has long been in common use; but as the edition of Elzevir, 1624, is the one often called the Received Text, or Textus Receptus, because of the words, "Textum . . . . ab omnibus recep- tum," occurring in the preface, we give the readings commonly reprinted on the Con- tinent.   In the main they are one and the same; and either of them may be referred to as the Textus Receptus.    There are a number of minute variations between the editors which we do not attempt to present.   In all these cases we have followed the majority of modern editors.   With them we have also added the final ν to the third person singular and plural in σι; third singular in ε; in datives plural in σι, &c.   For ο[υ]τω we have given ο[υ]τως, and α[υ]το[υ] where some have α[υ]το[υ]    As to the form of the Greek text a few words are needed.    1.
