"Hanunoo is spoken by about 5,000 inhabitants of
the southern
areas of Mindoro Island, Philippines.
An old alphatetic script
still survives among the Mangyans of Mindoro. Hanunoo is a
southern Mangyan (which means
Woodsman) language. It is a
Philippine Malayo-Polynesian tongue.
