May 8, 2000 Dear Pastor and Church, This letter is written to let you know about our my., Nathaniel Hazra, and the work he is doing in his native country of Bangladesh. I am encouraged with what the Lord is doing in Bangladesh and I am confident that He will continue to use Bro. Hazra to win the people of Bangladesh to Himself. It is with great joy that we bring this report to you on behalf of Bro. Nathaniel and in his own words (completely unabridged): Gospel of John Complete! At this writing, Nathaniel has completed his translation of the Gospel of John into the Bengali language! 'A young man and his wife attending to our Bible study and church service. He worked before a printing press and recently he start his own printing press. So he very much wanted to print the Gospel of John. He told me that he will always give me good printing cost. He fully going to start his press this month. I am going to print from his press and very soon sending I will sent you some copies of them.' Pastor of R. P. Church Professes Christ Shankar Hazra (no relation to Nathaniel), a Bangladesh national and R. P. preacher, came to Nathaniel wanting to discuss his (Shankar's) plan for preaching and building a work in Bangladesh. Upon his arrival, Nathan began to question him about his salvation. As the conversation went on, the man revealed that he did not understand repentance nor did he know how he got saved. Here, in Nathaniel's own words, is the story of Shankar and Mrs. Hazra's salvation: 'I told him what the Bible says about salvation and I gave my testimony how I saved. He said he didn't repent. Only for job he is working for preaching and many time he and his wife gave false report to their Bishop for preaching work. Both March Friday we invite them. I explained them who is God's children and devil's children (I John 3:8-10); confession of sin (I John 1:5-10); and what was the David's cry (Ps. 51:1-4; 130:2-3; 139:23-24); Rev. 3:19, 20. They really broke and their "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,"--Acts 3:19

eyes filled with tears and realized their sinful lost condition. After that they repent and saved. Amen. They said that they had no life before like their present born again life. They never got Bible teaching like this teaching. They studied Bible and preach in church but don't understand or realized like this preaching. They told me they would no more work with E. Church or other. They bought little cultivation land for living and praying for God their life. They have two daughters (10 and 15). Pray for them that God will give them His wisdom.' Gospel Film Stirs Rebellion in H_ndu Villages First week of March I went a H_ndu religion village and stayed with them and preach to them. This first visit I got good respond from them. Especially three college students are very interested to know about our Saviour. They are continuously doing correspondence Bible study. God sent me again 4th and 5th April to them for preaching. I brought a Bengali daubing Jesus Film and hire from that village a 20" TV and VCR and showed that film to them in a field and around 200 people were there for watching that film. Fact is that middle of showing that picture some of H_ndu man and woman throw dust and stone to us and tried to stop to show the picture and shout telling that not allowed any Christianity in their village. It was great noise of many confused voices. After half an hour those student and some interested people controlled them and we start again to showing the picture. Those three students gave me good hospitality how long I stayed with them and help me to preaching in that village. Those students want to sent me a message that now they praying to Jesus that glory of Christ make place in their heart. Again they sent me a message that they wanted to come to me for learn more about Word of God.' Bro. Hazra and His Family 'Since you saw us last year me and my family doesn't take any break. Actually we can't make a time to take a break. I will know you when we may take a break. In spiritually I am very good; I pray and study word of God regularly. God inspires and help me to do His work peacefully. Some time I face some opposition for Gospel preaching but God show me and help me to get other door. God feeding me His word and getting strength. God keeps me always busy to His work. I know His blessing in my life always (Rom. 8:28). I am living in His kind and grace in peaceful heart.' It is my hope that this report of Bro. Hazra and his work will encourage you to pray much for him and for his family as they labor in Bangladesh.
