DOUBTING SALVATION

TYPICAL FEELINGS PEOPLE HAVE AS TO WHY THEY MIGHT NOT BE SAVED

*   I don't feel loved by God.   - view of self

*   I was too young.   - Biblical view (don't feel accepted)

*   I didn't understand repentance and justification.   - not enough time in Scripture

*   Guilt: I have a bad habit and sin problem.   - can't get victory

*   No growth.   - no time in Word

*   I can't remember words I prayed or date.   - works insecure depending upon experience

*   I can't get prayers answered.   - bitterness toward God

*   Decision made because of fear.   - wrong view of God (fear, insecure)

*   I wonder if I made a salvation decision to please people, parents.   - fear of
         man - concerned of what others think (view of self)

*   I don't know if I was sincere.   - doubt self insecure

*   I don't remember circumstances.   - insecure, want experience, emotions (feeling
         oriented)

*   It was an emotional decision.   - emotional, live on feelings
