STOREHOUSE TITHING
Definition: The practice of giving 10 percent of your gross
            earnings/income to your local church.

I. S.T. is Scriptural Teaching.
   - tithe = 10 percent of all income.
   - the tithe is the Lord's.

"(9)Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: (10)So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9- 10)

"And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD." (Leviticus 27:30)

"And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD." (Leviticus 27:32)

II. S.T. is Selective Bringing.
    - the local church = storehouse today.
    - Personal Christian duty.

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house" (Malachi 3:10a)

"...Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store." (II Chronicles 31:10)

"(17)Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. (18)For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." (Matthew 5:17-18)

III. S.T. is Sincerity Showing.
     - cheerful, honest giver.

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:21)

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9:7)

"Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings." (Malachi 3:8)

IV. S.T. is Sacrificial Giving.
    - Not selfishness.
    - God owns all things anyways.
    - We are just stewards.

"Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold," (Acts 4:34).

"Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet." (Acts 4:37)

"(17)And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. (18)But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." (Deuteronomy 8:17-18)

V. S.T. is Sober Soul-winnng.
   - It takes finances to reach out to those who have never heard.

"ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (Acts 1:8b)

"And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth." (Mark 1:38)

VI. S.T. is Showers Receiving.

"Prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10b)

"(9)Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: (10)So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9-10)
