Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together in the sight
of the Lord Jesus Christ and this congregation to
join together _________ and _________ in
scriptural matrimony.   Scriptural matrimony began
in the Garden of Eden and was instituted by God.
Marriage is an honorable estate and is the first
and primary institution our Lord called into exist-
ence.   Marriage typifies the union between Christ
and His New Testament Church.   Marriage is set forth
in the Scripture as being God's plan for a man and
woman to bring Glory to God as they serve Him to-
gether.   The authority for marriage rests in the
Scripture.   Marriage, therefore, is an appointment
of God which should always be in God's will and
entered into soberly, reverently, and discreetly.
These vows are never to be broken in this life ex-
cept by death itself.   God has no plan for marriage,
divorce, and re-marriage.   Now into this Holy
Matrimony __________ & ___________ come
to be joined together in the sight of God and this
company.

We, therefore, declare that _________ & _______
have shown without question that God, the Holy Spirit,
is leading them to begin their life together in Holy
Wedlock.   They have determined that God's will for
them is to serve the Lord together in the spreading
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   They solicit your
prayers as they begin their lives together with
Christ.

___________ & __________, you are about to
assume some Biblical relationships and responsibi-
lities.   You are going to pledge and promise to each
other your everlasting devotion and fidelity.   You
are no longer going to be two, but one flesh.   I
remind you of a Biblical teaching; that only Christ,
His Word, your love and loyalty to Him and each
other, will avail as the foundation of a happy and
enduring marriage.   There are no human ties more
important or more sacred than your promises to each
other in Matrimony.   If you make our Lord Jesus
Christ, His Word, and the will of God for your life
the center of your home, then you will not only have
the blessing of God on your marriage, but also the

power of God on your life.

__________, will you have this woman to be thy
wedded wife, to live after God's scriptural plan
in the Holy estate of marriage?   And will you pro-
mise your complete faith to her in love and honor,
in all duty and service, in all tenderness, forsak-
ing all others for her alone, to live with her and
cherish her as long as ye both shall live?   (I will)

__________, will you have this man to be thy
wedded husband, to live after God's scriptural plan
in the Holy estate of marriage?   And will you pro-
mise your complete faith to him in love and honor,
in all duty and service, in all tenderness, forsak-
ing all others for him alone, to live with him and
cherish him as long as ye both shall live?   (I will)

Who giveth this woman to be married to this man?
